Was thinking about getting an in-dash type DVD player to replace the cd player in my cuddy and then hook it up to a 22" flat panel for watching movies.

I need one with the cables (red/white/yellow or s-video, etc) to hook to a flat panel. Who has done this or do you recommend a stand alone flat panel/DVD combo unit (not looking at the portable 10" screens, need something I can see).

Anyone have thoughts or a recommendation? Thanks,

Re: DVD receiver in cuddy?

Pretty much all automotive in dash DVD receivers will have the standard yellow composite video output and a lot of them will also have S-Video. They will also have at least 1 set of stereo(red and white) cables and many will also have a digital coax audio output. Neither composite nor S-Video make for good picture quality but it would display a picture. S-Video would be a small improvement over composite. Flat panel/dvd combo units suck as the DVD players break often. You might be better off with a stand alone home DVD player. They make them quite small these days and cheap enough where if it breaks you can toss it and buy a new one. Plus, if your TV accepts component or HDMI, you can find one with either of those and have much better picture quality.
