Re: E-Mail Address and Mail Boxes

Up till this point everytime I have changed my email in my profile I lost access to that screen name. Can't say if anything has changed since the last time I changed email addys, but this is about the 5th screen name I've had since about Jan of 2001. Hope you have better luck. ;)

RP, I think you can change your email address without screwing up your history. It will make you enter the password and then email the new password to your new email address.

I have a yahoo email address and don't have any problems, they are not my ISP though. I don't know anything about cableone.

Why not use Gmail?
If you change email addy, a new password is sent to that(new) addy for you to sign in with.
I have changed, I think 3 times, with no problems.

Here it is straight from iboats.
Email Address
Because we require that each email address be verified, any change of your email address will result in an automatic change of your password by the system; this new password would be emailed to the new email address that you list.
Gmail is google's mail program. The idea being you have a gmail.com address for life and then you don't need to keep changing when you change ISPs.
Gmail is popular compared to Yahoo for a couple reasons:
It's pretty close to spam free.
It's got a simple web interface.
You can access it using a normal mail client (via pop3s)
You can usually have a simple email adress. For example, mine's paul.moir@gmail.com
Have a look: www.gmail.com
And if you need an invitation, just ask. :)
