Are there any differences in the 200 Ho from years 06 to 08. Also what is the difference between the 200 HO, and the 225?

Re: E-tec Question

The only way to tell what's different between the two engines is to go through the parts list for both engines line item by line item. I suspect you looked at the literature, saw they were both the same displacement and you immediately thought "how can this be -- they are the same engine". There are a zillion posts over this same topic and the answer is always the same. Every manufacturer has two, three and even four engines using the same basic block but end up with different horsepower ratings. For four strokes the factors are cams, compression, carburetion/fuel injection, ECM, and exhaust tuning. For two strokes the same philosphy applies only there are no cams so porting takes its place. It's very inexpensive for the factory to pick parts from bin "A" rather than bin "B" to make a different HP engine. For you to buy those parts (an ECM for example) costs a bunch so conversions are rarely cost effective. On small tiller type engines it may be as simple as removing a restrictor plate from behind the carb, rejetting and off you go with a 9.9 instead of a 7.5.
