My boat is an 18 foot grp fisher(cathedral hull) with its current outboard a 90hp 1998 Evinrude ficht mounted on quite a wide grp outboard pod attached to the transome.(hull rated 120hp maximum)

I intend on an upgrade some time in the very near future and so far I'm very impressed with the new e-tec range.

A couple of questions for the experts here please?

I'm unsure what to go for, performance with my current 90 is on a calm day I can achieve 35 mph but rarely use it due to local weather.

Should I go twin 50?
Single 90?
Single 115?

Are these units more fuel efficient that my existing engine?

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!

Many thanks
Rob

go with the 115 a little more weight then 90,but not is much weight as twin 50's.alot better on oil when you set the motor up to run xd 100 oil, full syn.a little better on fuel..

If you use the boat in big water and want the piece of mind that you have two engines in case one should break down, then that would be good reason for two. Also if you troll quite a bit, running one 50 at time may help. Otherwise I agree that the 115 would be best.
