Is not the indicated pocket supposed to be the residence of an intake water screen? Is there a logical support for it's omission?

Does the modified inlet warrant the omission of the screen?

The water intake screen is no longer needed !--------Water now goes to the pump via a different route.

It looks like that stainless hose on the side of the lower housing routes from the back side of the prop housing "channel" to the inside of that well beside the water pump. I'm not too sure what the screen looks like, but if it filters from that port it may still be a viable piece?

Jachin-----I am not sure why you are struggling with this.-----The factory screened water intake has been bypassed !!

its currently right. the foot was modified for a high speed nose with a lower pickup. which means that that motor may have other modifications.

it probably ran with a surface running prop as well, or was on a jack plate to run the motor really high in shallow water.

I would say the motor runs high, and I'm guessing the plate the motor is mounted to is in fact a jack plate. I'm going to see if I can find the guy who originally owned the boat (I'm the third owner that I know of).

We have obviously gone from an owner who is very well educated, to one who knows next to nothing.
