East Islip NY - Need a favour

Anybody near East Islip NY who can go have a quick look at a boat for me? It's a '67 31' Chris Craft Commander on the hard. I need to get an unbiased opinion if this thing is worth the 500 mile drive to see it for myself.

There's a surf & turf dinner in it for you at your favorite restaurant for anyone willing to have a good look around the boat and snap a few pictures!!!

I'm 5 miles away. PM me and I hope I can help. I think I saw an ad for a boat matching that yr/model over the holiday. Red/white/blue paint scheme??? Send me a phone # to call. I'll check back later.
PS I'm a licensed/degreed marine engineer and skippered a 1981 38' CC Commander 15 yrs ago.

I haven't really seen an ad just a posting in another forum. I'll try to get some contact info and pass that along. Just waiting for him to reply to my last e-mail.

It'd sure be nice to know if this is worth us investing the 8-9 hrs on the road plus fuel etc. to go have a look for ourselves.

Don't put yourself out. We visited her sister yesterday. The wifey wasn't all that impressed. Guess she's got higher standards than me! *lol* I know she's trying very hard to steer me away from this type of boat. As soon as she saw the two gas engines I pretty much knew it was over.

They guy seems a little too elusive too. So really, don't bother. Send me your snail mail coordinates and I'll ship you out a Coast Guard ball cap. How was the ballgame?
