I am just back from a blow out on my trailer. I had a spare and I was very fortunate to have another boater stop with a nice large floor jack which sped me on my way. There are still helpful nice people out there is this world, despite what you would think after watching the eventing news!

However the situation has me thinking of a jack solution. My floor jack is heavy to carry each and every trip to the lake. I have seen an easy lift trailer jack
advertised in Overtons and Iboats (http://www.iboats.com/Seasense_Easy...6--**********.617306414--view_id.237401)which is basically a half of an elliptical circle which you place against the axle and drive until it lifts the boat.

Has anyone used one of these and did it work? It sure seems better than getting the mini-van's jack out or carrying my floor jack.

Thanks and check your spare tires!

I used my Easy Lift several times, once when I was alone. It still worked fine.

Light, inexpensive, takes up about as much room as another fire extinguisher.

A good thing to have aboard at any time.

When you say "smaller", what size do you mean? Would you think it would work well on a 19 foot Stingray, single axle trailer? Of, would this be too heavy?

It says 2 tons, which is 4000 lbs, well over my boat and trailer weight.

I have a floor jack, but It's heavy and I would rather have something light to carry with me for insurance when I drive to the lake. I also thought about a 2 or 4 ton bottle jack, but am not sure how heavy they are.

What ever solution, I am not going to buy Carlisle tires, and the "good" one on the trailer is coming off. The air pressure was perfect, double checked twice this year. This boat is an 04 and the first owner had one blow out in the first year, and now I had another go. I was planning on buying tires next year anyway, but now will accelerate it.

I am going to try the good year marathons.
