when i did the winterization of my boat, i noticed there was a decent amount of rust and buildup inside the water passages. Is there anything i can flush the cooling system with to help clear that out? something like CLR? i will be changing the water impeller soon, and would like to do this beforehand, so in case anything comes loose, it doesnt damage the new impeller.

This is on your 1999 Sea Ray? Are the manifolds and risers original? If so, much of that scale and rust used to be metal. Time to check the condition of your manifolds and risers ... may need replacing.

maybe i exaggerated a little. There was some rust and scale, but not a tremendous amount. I will be sure to check them once i run the clearer through there, and can see whats left though. Thanks for the heads up!

do i need to buy a "flush kit"? i just dont see how the muffs will seal enough to fill the entire system with the cleaner. Could i cover the intake on the lower and pour the cleaner into the hose by the thermostat on top? would that fill the entire system?

maybe running the engine to operating temp, so the thermostat opens? Maybe im not understanding how the flush kit works.
