Ebay Prop to Canada: added brokerage fees?

I'm looking at a Rogue SS prop on ebay for $379. The shipping options are approximately:

$33 for UPS Standard
$53 for US Postal Service

I'm inclined to spend the extra for the US Postal Service, because UPS charges an exhorbitant brokerage fee to the receiver, whereas USPS does not.

Has anyone any experience to share?

Actually postal is cheaper to ship and no outrageous brokerage fees. I always get my stuff shipped that way. From my experience most Ebay outfits rip you off by excessively padding the shipping charges, so I'm picky on who I do business with. I bought a new prop through ebay off a private party and shipping came out to around $15US.

For some reason US Postal is higher in this case than UPS - maybe UPS expects to make their money by the brokerage fees on my end - which is why I figure plain post will be cheaper in the end.

Use USPS unless you live near border and can get shipped to a US address. Sometimes UPS charges large and sometimes not. I run a shop which is also a purolator and UPS drop depot and always have to explain about UPS and that it is not me that wants their money. I get paid a buck a package for handling and spend more than a bucks worth of my time explaining how UPS just screwed them for brokerage and that I have nothing to do with it.
