I got this boat this past winter for a very reasonable price ($0)....maybe that was due to the fact that there were trees growing in it, was carpeted with green astro-turf, and had no useable equipment. I began to ask myself "What did I get myself into." Being 16 years old, I could only work on it on the weekends becasue of school and being new to the boat restoration world, I had some issues but boy have I learned some valuable lessons along the way! Had I known about this site sooner, I would have done a better job documenting the progress but you will be able to see most of it.

First off, this is what it looked like when I first got it!

This is a couple weeks later after I gutted it. After checking the floor it seems to be in near excellent condition with no soft spots...

Now the nearly finished product! I am almost there....

Now I have a couple questions...
1. What color carpet should I install that would complement the amazing color scheme of the hull (added in some sarcasm)
2. Assuming the transom is in good condition, what would be the biggest motor I could put on it. I have a 1966 33 HP evinrude on it now. Is that enough you think? (I haven't had it on the water yet)

Thanks for any help...comments and suggestions for improvements are more than welcome!

PLEASE resize to 640 x 480 so you don't kill the members on dial up

Welcome to iboats. That 33 will do you fine and it will handle up to a 50 hp safely.

Did you install T bolts for those seat swivel bases??? That is alot of stress on onle a handfull of screws.

If you are going to fish..... I would go with a vinyl flooring in a light gray.

Looking good, +1 on the vinyl floor, if you can find them with some texture on the surface, they won't be as slippery as one might think. Plus great when it comes to cleanup...hose away!

Kudo's on your rag rack, too many don't realize the dangers of combustion, of rags soaked in chemicals thrown in a heap can cause

Sorry about the pic size, it simply slipped my mind:(

I had thought about vinyl but didn't know if it would look funny. Hearing the suggestion from other people makes me feel better now....
