I think I found the kicker motor I've been looking for- 15hp 4-stroke, long (25") shaft. Only problem... it's a Merc!

Can a Johnson and a Mercury co-exist on the same transom?

Will constant fighting ("I'm better! NO, I'm better!") upset the trim of the boat?

I know the 175 Johnson is a lot stronger, but the Merc is lighter and more agile. Will it come to prop-ticuffs? Who'd win?

Finally, which forum can I call home? Johnson? Mercury? Will I instead become an outcast on both?!?

AAAARRRGGGGhhhhh... the AGONY!

:D

well at least you asked the question in the right forum. they can coexist, but not very well. you just have to keep a strong vigilance to make the merc behave.

Ya know, it wasn't that many years ago you couldn't even have this discussion in a public forum. Things are getting better. :)
