KIZ,

On the "lost" thread you have claimed I made assumptions which have POed you.

The thread spoke of public education and your wish to eliminate it in order to be provided with vouchers for your children. You said something to the effect that money was tight and it was difficult to provide private educations for your children. At that point, I simply said that if you cannot afford their private education which appeared to be of concern to you, you have options. Selling your boat would be one viable and a simple solution rather than to destroy public education and the thousands of families involved.

I found it incredible that you were willing to destroy the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of educators and their families for your personal gain. I still find it incredible.

I never said you prioritize boating over your children. Nor did I ever think it, or intend to infer it. I think you made some assumptions on this. The same type which when others make, PO's you.

However, if you would have ended up sending your children to a less than desirable school, while keeping your boat....well, you figure out if the shoe fits....I never said it did.

I also believe you said that you found a way to keep your children in private schools w/o selling your boat. Great!

KIZ, if your friend came to you tomorrow and said he is sending his kids to a sub-standard school because he could no longer afford private, and then asked you to come over and work on his boat tomorrow......what would you say?

In my mind, it makes logical sense. If I said I cannot afford private school for my children, but I own a boat, what would my priorities be.

Re: Education before boating

CJY, perhaps I was just POed cause my boat is a worthless piece of junk. d:) :'(

My point is, you cant really judge ones wealth by the fact they own a boat.

And nope, only the little one goes to private pre-k. We moved into an area that had a good public school so the 5th grader could have a good education.

I feel sorry for those that couldnt afford to move where the public schools are good, and thus my support of vouchers.

I think we should all realize that the written word never actually infers the writers intent. This has arisen in the JB vs txwinner battle.

KIZ,

Being the parent of three, and knowing the importance of my children to me, I would never intentionally imply or say you or anyone else places material objects above their children. I do not recall my exact words, therefore, I won't try to justify them any further. I can only offer my sincere apology to you if you felt my words crossed that line. Again, I am sorry.
