I want to put brakes on my trailer this spring and I heard the Fulton makes electric trailer brakes that can be used in the salt. Has anyone had experience with these, and if so do they hold up?
I was going to go with a surge system but I have heard a lot of complaints with surge brakes.

Lou C
I have not herd of Fulton but EZ Loader has some new Electric brakes that came out last year. Also See link below. I prefer the Stainless Steel disk surge brakes. Champion was very help full and answer all my questions before I changed from Drum surge breaks to Disk surge brakes.

http://www.championtrailers.com/

Lou C,

Electric brakes would be no different than any other brake in salt water. Electric brakes simply have a different form of actuation. The actuators are sealed on electrics.

As with any other brake, a thorough flushing is in order after a dunking.

You could always go electric over hydraulic....

electric brake controller controlls hydraulic pressure at the tounge, instead of the "surge" method.... but also comes with about a $500+ price tag.
