Do you have a manual for your motor? If you do it can tell you what's up. If not order here on this website. While you wait for delivery you can go to a library and check one out.

Dutch

Hi Emeritz,
Yes there is an easy way to test it. Use a 12 volt automotive test light, hook it up to a good engine ground, the other end to the terminal on the selenoid. Have some one turn the key to the on position, and then keep pushing it in while you observe the light. Each time that it is pushed in the light should light, and the choke solenoid should pull in. If at any time the light comes on, but the choke dosn't pull in then you probly have something wrong with the choke solenoid. If the light dosn't come on when the key is pushed in then there is something wrong with the key switch, or wireing.
I hope this helps you.
