I have 74 302, 888 mercruiser. I have recently purchased a new electric choke thermostat. According to my wiring diagram the thermostat is supplied voltage by the resistance wire. However, the choke thermostat requires 12V continously to operate. How will it operate when supplied by the resistance wire? Doesn't the resistance wire supply approx. 8-9V?

I may be analyzing the wiring diagram wrong, not sure. Thanks for the help.

Re: Electric Choke Thermostat

Ther choke heater gets its 12 volt feed before the resistance wire reduces the voltage to the coil.
