I have a Rochester 2GC with electric and heat tube connections. Currently I'm using the heat but want to switch to the electric. There's one terminal post. Where do I connect it? Also, a lot of posts I've been reading reference a gound terminal, but mine does'nt have one. Does it ground internally?

Thanks!

Re: Electric choke wire

Just ground it to the carb body anywhere, or to the choke screw itself. And any hot wire with the ignition on will work fine. I would stay away from any coil wire hookups unless you know they are a constant 12volts. Get a probe and find a hot (ignition on) wire and tap off it.

That's the problem-I don't have a ground wire connector. What do I do then?

Re: Electric choke wire

The ground is where it connects to the carb. But, you need to make sure there is continuity between the choke coil housing and the body of the carb to ground. Also, do not use the paper gasket between the electic choke coil and and choke coil housing as it will insulate the ground and it won't work.
Make sure your new electric choke coil works the right way, or you could be trying to close the choke more as it warms up.
