Any opinions out there on electric log splitters? I'm looking at one sold by DR Power Equipment. 1800-watt motor drives a 12000 lb hydraulic splitter. Portability is not an issue. Cost is. $649. Thanks.

Re: electric/hydraulic log splitter?

DR is from here in VT (about an hour away) and I have used there equipment. Very good quality backed by a good company. I have seen the splitters in action and they seem to work fine.

Don't expect a blistering cycle time but it will compete with a standard gas engine spliter but not a commercial one.
