Electric Transom-Mount Trolling Motors shaft length ?

~Confused...

I got a boat on the way (Saturn SD 365) and it says that it should use 15 inches shaft for the motor.

Now, I could find gas motor with this shaft but I cannot find any electric motor with a shaft smaller than 30 inches??

What am I missing?

Elec. trolling motor shaft is totally adjustable. It is not a big deal for inflatable boats. You may want to get the shortest availabe. Only the big hard hull boats may need the longest shaft.

I found a Motor Guide Varimax 45 with an 18 inch shaft, or the 36 inch shaft. Should I get the 18 in shft for a small inflatable like the FoldCat 375?
