I have an '88 Evinrude outboard that has almost all electrical connections painted with some sort of liquid neoprene (e.g. Liquid Lectric tape). I've had no problems over the years with corroded connections.

What are the Mercruiser pros using? Given the number of exposed connections and the potential for causing startability/runability problems, there must be some tried and true method(s) for keeping electrical connections clean. Certainly, I can clean and polish all connections, but it's only a matter of time before I'm doing it all over again.
