My neighbor inherited a nice looking engine; however, the wiring harness has some disconnected wires (bare wire sticking out of the end of the sheath) and at least one multi-pin connector that we cannot find a match for. No matter what we try, we cannot make the starter engage, nor get the power lift to work. The only identification label we can find is on the upper inside of the cover, and it has deteriorated such that it is unreadable. I'm guessing from looking at images, that it is about a 96 or so model year. Can't search the Yamaha website for a service manual without the specific year & model number. Any help would be appreciated. And yes, we have inserted the safety disconnect clip!
