Re: Electrical issue with Key West 225CC
For the trim tabs I'd suspect a switch, control box, wiring, or the actuator. It's not a power supply problem since one tab is still working and they share the same supply. The radio should be simple enough. Check to see if it is getting power to it. I go straight to the failed unit first with everything hooked up and turned on to see if it's getting power and a good ground. If you don't have power or a ground start backing up from there to see where it breaks down. In other words, if the bilge pump doesn't work with the switch on check the wire going to it for power. If it's there, check the ground, if you have both the pump is bad, but if either power source is missing, positive for instance, back up to the switch and see if it's sending power to the pump. If it is and power isn't getting to the pump the break is somewhere in the wire. I doubt if your problems have a common source. The engine buzzer for instance is isolated to the engine's wiring harness and has nothing to do with the boat's system which powers everything else. Good luck with it.
I have a 2007 Key West 225CC. Recently things have started to fail. First one of the trim tabs failed, then within a week the radio stopped working and I no long hear the buzzer when I turn my key to the one position. Today I realized my bilge pump has also stopped. I have checked all the fuses I can find, made sure none of the breakers are tripped and meter tested all the wires. Still cannot find where my problem is. Has anyone had this issue? If so how did you find the problem?
