Electrical Issue?

A little background. '95 Baja 236. 7.4 Bravo 1. Carb'd.

Took the boat out yesterday. Ran around the upper Chesapeake for a couple of hours. Anchored up and sat for a couple of hours. Fired the boat up to pull up anchor. Fired right up, then after 30 seconds or so, it shut off. Then, it would not start again. I even tried starter fluid. I can actually see fuel vapor in the carb, so I'm assuming it's electrical.

Any ideas as to where to start?

Check for spark...

If you have a strong blue spark, then look at timing, and fuel issues.

Can we ask for an engine serial number please... This engine is in an era when a lot of things were changing, so if we have the serial number we know exactly what we're looking at... Thanks.
