To begin, I an NO electrician LOL......Little while back, fish box pump wasn't working......redid butt connectors and worked. Boat sat for a week or so. Went out the other day to turn on fish box pump to drain rain water and NO POWER whatsoever to helm, nothing worked. Older 2005 Proline that has a DC main breaker ( 25550 35v/50amp) down the line after battery switch. Tried pushing red trip button to reset and did not pop to reset.......thinking this could be my problem ???? wires going everywhere in this boat s hard to track them

Unless someone had the exact same issue it will be hard to determine what the issue is. Need to get a voltmeter and trace the wires

it is probably the connections you repaired. start there.

as AD stated, use a multimeter and start troubleshooting

After redoing the connections to the fish box pump, it and all electric worked fine. I ran multimeter on battery, and worked down the line........( not an expert with this device.........several test ran fine until i got to testing positive and negative directly under helm ( positive and negative buss )....indicated no power. A step back, ran negative jumper wire from negative buss under helm and positive to battery to test ground......got reading of 12.56V.

Ran a continuity test of Main DC breaker ( Buss 25550 32v/50amp) and it failed. Seems pretty old as when pushing red button, does not trip. Ordered new one but now have to wait few weeks for delivery

Pushing the button doesn't cause it to trip. The button only resets the breaker if it trips

On any marine buss fuse like this, you push red button, arm pops and teips breaker, push arm back in and that resets it. Kind of like test button on GFCI. Ran continuity beep test on it and no beep.....just OL on continuity and ohms ??

Just run a jumper across the breaker** only for testing! ** If things work, then it's the breaker.
