Sunday I took the boat out for the first time this season. It was difficult to start but several things went wrong beyond that. First, the kill switch didnt make any difference, the engine ran with the kill switch engaged or disengaged. Then after about 30 minutes of running, all four warning lights came on, went back off one at a time in about 5 sec, then the tach would creep up to 7000 rpms (not the engine) and the trim indicator would go to full up. Then everything would stop working in 5 more seconds and the whole scenario would repeat. Any suggestions? ground, bad switch? Its a 2001 230 Hydrasports seahorse, 225 johnson if this helps. thanks in advance...

Re: electrical problem, gauges and tach malfunction

Check the battery terminal connections (clean and tight) and then check under the console for loose connections.
