OK. I took my boat out yesterday and started it. It idled for a couple of minutes and then died. I brought it home and had the battery tested at a local auto parts store. The battery failed. So I bought a new battery, started my motor, let it run for about 15 minutes and turned it off. I tried to start it back up and NOTHING!!!! I turn the key and no sound whatsoever.

Battery is good (brand new)
battery cables are not corroded or bad
ignition switch works.......all gages come on when key is turned

I cannot find a fuse box anywhere to check for blown fuses.

Could the starter have just crapped out on me?

I have an inboard OMC Cobra 3.0 4 cylinder engine.

Model number 302~DG~MMDA
Serial number T01266454

Any information would be appreciated.

Did you leave it in gear?
I did that once when we were off shore about 5 miles and saw 4 humpback whales about 1/2 mile further out so we went out to take some pictures. They got pretty close so decided to head in and motor would not turn over.

Wife excited so I started the Kicker and put her on the helm with a compass course.

I opened the motor up and jumpered the start solenoid and motor started right up.
Shut the kicker off and went in. When got to the dock stated the motor ten times and it was perfect.
My conclusion was that I must have left motor in gear when I shut it off.
