I have a 2000 Larson with Volvo Penta 5.0Gi 102 hrs on engine.
I have an intermitent electrical problem. The engine will start fine then after a few minutes it just cuts off. Wait a short while and it starts back up.

When this occurs I get no power to the gauges or fuel pumps and the start up alarm does not sound. I started to pull out the dash area and it powered up. I think the problem is in the key switch or its curcuit or possibly the safety lanyard. I double checked all connections on the engine and the problem doesn't seem to be there.
Any ideas?

Yes, I have the diagram, I checked all connections on the switch, they are clean and tight.

Re: electrical problem

I think I found the problem. A loose connector between the ignition switch and the wiring harness that leads to the gauges and them back to the engine.

Thanks
