Not sure if I'm posting in the right area. Anyway my question is I ended up relocating my battery on my boat farther up....long story short I had to buy a new connector to extend the length of my trolling motor my question is when not in use do I need to disconnect it from my trolling motor battery or can I leave it hooked up. Is it still sucking juice even though nothing is hooked up to it? I also have the same question about my graph connectors since I remove the graph when not in use.

Re: Electrical Question

No it is not consuming any electrical energy when not hooked up. Even hooked up but turned off no energy should be used. It requires a completed electrical circuit to allow electrons to flow.
