I just want to make sure I get the right diagram in my head then on paper. I've already found a couple. I have a 1973 evinrude fastwin 18hp.

which one is the diagram/schematic I should be using. I have all the parts just need to get wire now. And what gauges should I be looking at purchasing too?

Either of those would be helpful, depending on what you want to do. Mr. Hebert's article is particularly good.
