electrics on a 50 hp johnson

I have a 50 hp johnson model no,50ESL73R serial no,C6786 . Not sure what year .bought it secondhand. The engine runs fine but it keep blowing fuses and some times I cant turn the engine off.

Howdy, pedroofn.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. <br /><br />That's a 1973 model.<br /><br />Sounds like problems in the harness and/or the connector at the powerhead. I would start with the connector.<br /><br />Good luck.
