what is the best way to treat the floor of a aluminiun boat that has small amount of electrolisis in it what to clean it up with and how to treat it i have rewired all the electrics as the previous owner had no idea earthing stuff to the hull any help would be great

Jackson,<br /><br />The BEST thing you can do is make sure that the SOURCE of the electrolysis is GONE.<br /><br />Once done, there really isn't anything else you can/need to do.<br /><br />If the electrolysis has caused damage you are really worried about, you have two choices.<br /><br />1. Weld in new pieces.<br /><br />2. Treat with epoxy.<br /><br />Once the source of electrolysis is stopped. The AL tends to settle down and go no further. It (AL) builds a "self preserving" coat of corrosion and stops there.
