electronic fuel pump or ignition?

hey all new boater here. I was wondering if i can install an electronic fuel pump and or electronic ignition on my 1979 omc 140 motor?

Maybe the question should be, If I should and which part #'s. friend insists that we should with automotive parts.. me not so sure. oh and I been working on gm motors for a long time. Points are not a problem for me.

I can't think of a single reason to change 'em....

That mechanical pump, 'n points have bee workin' just Fine for 30 years...

And, ignition, 'n fuel parts should always be Marine rated...
Never automotive...
