electronic ignition

I have a 1989 2.3L OMC cobra. I want to switch the points ignition to electronic ignition. Is this what I need, and if so is it all I need to do that or is there something else I will need.

According to Pertonixs catalog, that kit is for the 1.6l Ford engines, not a 2.3l... The catalog doesn't list a product for a MARINE 2.3l Ford engine....

Mallory Marine makes one for your boat, you will also need to make sure you have the most current shift module to go along with it.

How will I know about the shift module?

yours will have a part number on it, either call a dealer and make sure its the msot current or look it up online to make sure it matches.
