Electronic ignitions - when?

Does anyone know when Mercury dumped distributors and moved to electronic ignitions? <br /><br />Thanks

Mercury started with CD in 66, went to breakerless in 50 HP and above in 67 and went to ADI on 50s in 76,80s in 78,90/115 in 79,140/150 in 79-80

Thats alternator driven ignition with a stator under the flywheel feeding power to a switch box and trigger under the flywheel that tells the box when to fire the cyls
