Ive aquired an old Elgin motor, it has 2 cylinders, its green, fuel tank is built into the top cover, it has a little knob on the side to engage, disengage the prop, It has no tag on the clamp, Ive looked for model and serial numbers on it just about everywhere to no avail. Is there some where else that these numbers might be? Or another way i might be able to tell the size and year of this engine? It needs points and maybe a coil. Only numbers ive found are on the cylinder side (23010) Any Help would be apprecated, Thanks

Hi Stone<br />I can not give a defenate answer as to size and year of your motor with the mod#. How ever it sounds as if your motor is about the same as Littledingys (the post below). Basicly all these little West Bend made Elgins are about the same. As far as I know there is not a whole lot of info published for a model specfic repair manual. The good news is, just about any generic outboard repair manual can give you enough info to get you by. As for parts. Parts like gold, are where you find them. You may be able to order some consumeable parts from Napa auto supply, under West Bend/Chrysler, i.e. carb kit, pump empeller, points. Before trying to oder parts, YOU will need to do your home work so you can identify your motor and the parts needed. We can help.
