elite 5 dsi questions

ive had my unit now for 7 days. between work and rain, ive got on the water for 2 hours. ive played around in living room also. does this unit show contour lines? my android phone has a better map than this unit. but im hoping i dont know what im doing.

Bottom contour yes -- but not in your living room. As for the map -- can't help with that. I suspect if you zoom IN on the map detail will become far more evident. But then you didn't indicate what the "map problem actually is".

I would suspect the built in basemap does not have much in the way of contour lines. My Humminbird has a basemap that might get you to shore. I bought a Navonics lake map and that map has 10' contour lines, on some lakes 3', but you need to scroll the cursor out to an actual lake though.

what about some tweaking/setup tips. theres not any real good info on this subject. does someone have a setting that works for you?
