EMERGENCY KILL SWITCH??

Here is my problem.I have a 1974 MFG gypsy with a 120hp merc. I/O.I would like to put a emergency kill switch in it as I boat by my self (always with auto inflateing Mustang air force pfd)<br />but would I have to change the engine controler to get the switch?<br />ken

nope<br /> its a simple rewire.<br />is your switch dash mounted or in the control box ?

Rodbolt,my key switch is on the dash.my engine control has one handle with a button to take it out of gear to start the engine.I would rather not have to change it because my boat is completely original.<br />ken

Hey Ken, I,ve seen it done with some older boats in local bass tourneys. I,m a moron when it comes to explaining this stuff,you should be able to wire the switch to your ignition. post in the electric section, I'm sure someone can exlpain it better than me.<br /><br /> Jim

Thanks Bill,thats EXACTLY what I was looking for!!<br />boy this place ROCKS.<br />Went to Sierria marine web site they have a on line manual describing it and how to in stall it.<br />thanks agin Ken
