Empty threaded hole on top of 2004 Penta 3.0 GL?

Hi everyone. First time Penta owner here. I noticed an empty, threaded hole on the top of my 2004 3.0 GL. Is there supposed to be some sort of bolt/screw in here? Just seems odd that it's threaded yet empty... figured I'd check.

Pictures below... impossible to see the specific hole in the first one, but it gives the best perspective of the area I'm referring to.

Ayuh,.... That head has been in production since the 60s, lotsa holes are use in lotsa applications,...

But not All holes are used in All applications,...

That's just an unused hole in yer Volvo application,....

My 2009 V-P 3.0 has the same hole open.
