Third. Forgiveness is a virtue. At least give him a probationary period.

4th.
He was pretty funny and although he did cross the line a few times I think banning was too severe.

He engaged in a pizzing match with the powers that be. He had pee shooter, they had the nukes. It serves as an example to everyone who enjoys these forums. Mind yourself, because too much recklessness will not be tolerated. That is why these forums remain a great and civil place; among the very best of forums on the net (look around at the flame wars and rampant profanity and absence of respect for other members on other forums). However, I think Ray has served his sentence, and if he would like to return, I would love to see him back. I think he has learned his lesson.

Without the "banned for life" as a deterrant, there will be disorder.

I think Ray was given plenty of chances.

Ken

I know Ken, but Ray is basically a good guy. I just think the term of punishment is bit rough. But hey, I'm just me, not a mod, and I was not privy to the final exchanges that led to his banishment.

LOL @Noel!

Ray was okay, he just voiced his opinion in a way that the mods didn't care for. Actually against board rules. He just happened to do it a bit too often.

I vote for him to come back, but hey, this isn't a democratic board.......Please mods, I'll buy something.... :p

I just talked to Ray. He is doing ok. He has been in the hospital for a few weeks. His kidneys are getting worse and he is waiting on the insurance to pay for the surgery he needs.

Liz had a kidney transplant and is doing well he says.

Says he still visits here and to tell everyone hi.

i vote time served also. atleast with a probationary period. i like his sense of humor. granted he did cross the line a couple times but i believe he should have chance to show everyone how much he has matured. I know its not up to the mods but maybe they could put in a good word for him.

I would love to have him back, but I really doubt that he has changed. It is not as if he was sent to a correctional facility and now he is reformed.

I guess this is the annual pro-Ray thread. How 'bout we make a deal...when Pete Rose makes it into the Hall of Fame, Ray gets back into iboats.

just an idea :)
