This is a question for future application.
Today I was applying gelcoat on my transom. I had to wait until early afternoon for the temp. I put on 3 layers, rolling, before i ran out of time. The gelcoat isn't thick enough. I wasn't sure whether i should let it cure or not, decided to spray the PVA on..I will sand tomorrow before layering further.
In the future in this situation, would it be ok to let the layer semi-cure and add to it again the next day, or do i need to fully cure and start over each day?
Thanks
Ian

No need to Spray the PVA. Wait and spray more the next day as long as no contaminants get on the surface. If you suspect they might, wash down with some Acetone and continue on. You'll actually obtain a better bond doing it this way rather than letting it cure and then applying the next layer.

Thanks WOG! I sprayed the PVA, as it seemed like the more conservative approach at the time. I'm wet sanding it and going to try to add some more coats here in a bit. I've been using 320G, but i think i'm gonna do a quick pass with some 220, just to make sure i'm back to a good bond.
Good knowledge for the future
