im working on a 1992 wellcraft 19ft. it had a 4.3 in it but was taken out when i got the boat. i just got done putting a 305 in it today and have it running. now i have to align it but am having a problem with this. i loosened the engine mount nuts up andthreaded the lower nut all the way down to start fresh. now with the nuts all the way down the motor still needs to go down to get the alignment right but there isnt anymore threads left. is there a shim kit for the back on the transom mount? or do i need different engine mounts the motor and outdrive assembly came out of a mid 80's winner boat so everything we used is a matching set. what else do i need to look for?

Re: engine alignment

What drive system do you have?

If it's MC you need to make sure the rear mounts went on with the correct position of the washers/springs and spacers If the "stack" ain't right you will not get it to align.

It would help to know the drive, volvo, yamaha, merc, omc?

Re: engine alignment

Ayuh,... Raise the front mounts back up...
It sounds like you're visualizing it just Backwards...
The motor pivots on the Rear mounts,... Raising the Front, lowers the Hole you're shootin' for...
