hey guys changed my drive bellows, exhaust bellows, shift cable and bellows, and gimbal bearing. i have the alignment tool and it seems to slide in easily enough, but i read here and some say that it slides in with their pinky, mine seems to have a little resistance. it seems about the same as when i slid the gimbal bearing on the tool before installing it. does this seem correct or should i try aligning engine? also just wanted to say i was able to fabricate a bellows expantion tool with two pieces of 3/8 rod and two 1 3/4 flat washers welded to the end of the rods worked great and only 7.50 for materials.

Re: engine alignment

Sounds good by your discription. Put the drive on and go boating.
Great idea for the bellows tool for those with welding capabilities.

Re: engine alignment

I think the tool is only 20 dollars. but if ya got the time and the welder why not. if the tool slides all the way in with little resistance its in alignment. not need for further adjustments.
like DonS says. put it on and go enjoy.
