Re: ENGINE BLOCK

You could try an auto salvage yard. You may have to have the block reconditioned, but that is most likely going to be your most economical source. There is no such thing as a marine specific block. These GM motors differ from their automotive version only in the periferal sense. You'll need to find out what cars this engine came in to make the hunt easier. Good luck....

Re: ENGINE BLOCK

Realgun, I was sort of thinking about that. Could it be OMCs version of the Mercruiser 3.7 liter 470 where they used a Ford 460 head on an aluminum Merc block designed for the 470? He never said how many cylinders his engine was, or if it was Volvo/Penta, Mercruiser, or OMC. Is it a small V-6, an inline 6, or a large 4 cylinder? Guess that question needs to be answered as well as who's name is on the valve cover.

Re: ENGINE BLOCK

I recently came across an extra boat that I have been using for parts. Next year I'll upgrade to a 4.3 but I do have a fairly good 3.0 block I'll let go of cheap.
