My friend has a 2003 60HP merc that bogs down and sometimes shuts off when the throttle is advanced from idle to full quickly. (pulling up a skier) If the throttle is advanced slowly it does fine and it runs perfect once it is at full throttle. We have changed the plugs and cleaned the carbs with mild to no improvement. We will start adjusting idle mixture screws next time we are on the water. (maybe too lean?) Any suggestions? Fuel pump, fuel filter change needed?
