Hi i have a 1990 18 foot with a 4.3 liter mercruiser alpha one. I just bought the boat and there was no engine compartment box. now the question is; how close can i put the side panels (i made) to the side of engine.how much space should i leave in between engine and panels.I have about 6-8inch in front of engine and front panel. I am trying to get as close as possible to engine so i can get seats on each side of engine. but without any problems with eng overheating cause there is not enough air circulation Thanks for any help :p

Look at the decking, that should tell you where. You didn't say what type of boat, most in cases, that class can fit a single seat on each side.

Re: engine compartment size ???????

Its a 1990 glassport cuddy with a i/o 4.3 liter. So go by the opening of the motor. that would only leave, about 2" inch space between motor and panel. the seats I have to go back there are 16"inch wide. Its really gona be tight. Or do a make my own (custom) seat. Thanks for your help ;)
