Hi & thanks for reading.

My motor is a 86 Mercury 60hp. 3 cylinder. It is pushing an old 14 foot Sea Sprite.

A strange thing happened today that made me wonder what was going on......

Since buying this OB I've only fished by myself. At higher RPM's I could hear the engine cover rattling. At first I didn't pay any attention to it.
Yesterday, I decided to change the plugs (p.s oh my what a difference good plugs do to a motor...) Since I knew of the rattle I checked everything over. Everything was tight & ok.

Today, I took my buddy out with me....with him in the back I didn't notice a rattle..
Since he had to go to work I dropped him off at the dock & went back out. The rattle returned.
The boat is a 2 seater. I control everything from the front. (pics are easier)

(click for bigger picture)

Could I be due for a prop change? Or should I try to weigh down the rear of the boat more (I could buy adding my 2nd fuel tank)
I don't have a tach as I don't know if those universals (tiny tach, etc) will work on a 3-cylinder engine.
Or should I just always bring someone along? :)

Or....... (this is where you come in)

Thanks as always.
