So heres the story. I have been rebuilding this boat for 3 years and finally was able to take it out yesterday for the first time. It is 88 omc 4.3L with cobra drive. It was running strong but had an intermittent what I would call "miss". It was studder every now and then (i would notice it at 2-3k rpm). It progressively got worse. I would be at 3000rpm for 30 seconds and it would just die. Some times the engine would shut down completely.. some times I could play with the throttle enough to keep it running at 1000rpm or so.. I was able to keep it at 1200rpm with some hicups so that I could get it back to the launch. I have replaced almost everything possible in the is boat.. new reman engine.. new plugs, wires, fuel pump, water sep. I cleaned the gas tank out about 8 months ago, 1/3 of a tank was 8 month old fuel and I filled it yesterday with high test. Im so close to getting this thing right.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
