Re: Engine Dieseling
Howdy,
Have you had a look at the plugs?
"Dieseling" in a Non-diesel engine is usually caused by areas in the combustion chamber that are hot enough to ignite the fuel/air mixture without a spark.
This can be carbon deposits or the actual piston tops, valves, plugs or small pieces of carbon on any of those items that is glowing after a high power run.
It can also be exacerbated by the engine simply running hotter than normal.
There are lots of conditions that can contribute to that too like timing, running too lean, vacuum leak, wrong thermostat, plugged cooling system, all of which might cause hot running.
wrong jets and/or a partially closed choke in the past might have caused very rich running that was subsequently fixed and after leaving a lot of carbon behind.....now that carbon is glowing (acting like glow plugs)
