Engine dying 4.3 omc cobra

I take it out and about ten minutes later,its like someone has turned it off.All my gauges drop and engine dies and won't turn back on.I can let it sit an hour and turns back like nothing was ever wrong

How does it die, immediate shutdown or does it sputter and slowly shut off. ( carbed ) Could be a fuel flow issue. Check: Vent,anti siphon valve and filters first.8)

Its like someone has turned key of immediately,and wont start or even crank its like i have a dead battery but i don't it's brand new.

If the gauges are dead too, turn on the blower (so you'll know when you have power) and then go back and start moving the main wiring harness around to see if it will come on. If the boat is running go back and move it around and see if it dies.

The out drive was resently removed and replaced is it possible that something is locking up?My gauges die when engine does.The voltage meter buries when i turn key and I hear clunk noise coming from drive.

This turned out to be a bad upper gearset.once it got hot it would sieze,there were bearings all over the place...ouch
