If you are married, you already know that it is always your fault!

Seriously, this sounds like one of those part failures due to a weak rod or just age on the bearings. I've never seen the small end go though--It seems to always be the bis end. It gets a lot more rotation and abuse.

If you had this engine only one month, you really don't know the history of it. Previous owner may have abused it, may have stored it for long period without enough oil causing bearings to rust--etc.

Your oil mix had nothign to do with it. Sounds like a simple bad part that had a flaw. it jsut so happend to go bad when you owned it
