Engine hesitates when trimming outdrive

I have a 1999 27' Sea Ray Sundancer with Bravo III outdrive.<br /><br />When I am running, even slow, and press my outdrive trim button to lower it, I get an audible alarm and the engine hesitates. On some occassions, it even quits. If I stop pushing the down tilt button, everything goes back to normal. Can any help? THANKS, Pete

hello<br /> what does the voltmeter indicate at the instant you hit the down button? check all your battery and cable connections. sounds like a loose/dirty conection and when a large electrical load is applied then the engine powers off. what engine configuration do you have? is it carb,MPI or TBI?<br /> good luck and post more information

Rodbolt - I have a 7.4L MPI (multi-port injection) engine.<br />I will check all the connections like you suggested..could be it.<br />Pete
